The Base station (BS) I have used for GB3YW is the Kyodo KG110.
These were re-badged as Nokia BSR150's and used on British Gas trunking sites for several years before becoming obsolete and finding there way
onto the amateur market circa 2004.
The BS is synthesised and the EPROM's have been programmed for all the 2m repeater frequencies available in the UK. My thanks to Dave Hill G8MGP
from the Bedford Repeater Group for supplying the files which can be downloaded
using the following links Tx,
Rx.
If you want to program the Eproms for frequencies other than the ones contained in the files above then you will need to download the following
Zip file and once extracted run Kyodo.exe.
A manual for the BSR150 in PDF format can be obtained from here.
The only modification I have made is to the receiver in order to improve the action of the squelch which lacked any form of hysterisis
and was difficult to set. To do this I fitted a resistor between pins 12 & 14 of the TK10420 IF/Detector IC. Typical values for this resistor
range from 47K - 220K.
